Question Credit Card Abuse
my son was charged with credit/debit card abuse from a company he worked for in the state of texas he was charged in three counties and arrested in all three counties and posted bond. he was was not aware of any charges being filed at the time of his arrest. he posted bond in witchia falls texas then transferred to parker county where the charge was filed later was arrested again for the same charge for two more counties had to post bond two more times. we tried to contact the employer but the district attorney told them not to talk to us. is that legal he would have been willing to pay what ever it was they said he had charged. worst case he could not afford all the fines and was arrested again. and has been in jail 5 months. court dates keep coming up but they never come to get him for court and can not get any info from the jail it says that a attorney has been assigned but he has not spoken with anyone is there any thing we can do. and is it normal to be charged for the same crime three times.

Default Re: Credit Card Abuse
He could be charged for each and every instance where he used the card. In other words, every jurisdiction where he used the card can bring charges and arrest him equal to the number of times he used the card. Better hope he didn't travel much or this could become a common occurrance for him. He is being charged under the same statute for multiple offenses (NOT for a single crime - he committed the same crime multiple times).

If he had been willing to pay, he should have - BEFORE he used credit cards fraudulently.

If he has been appointed a public defender, they will speak with him before he goes before the court - but it could be only a few minutes before. The only thing you can do to help him at this point is to consider getting him the best criminal defense attorney you can find.
