I have a workers comp case with the state of Florida and am being represented by an attorney who specializes in the Florida Heart and Lung Bill fs 112.18. I had not heard from my attorney for about a year when out of the blue I get a letter stating he is withdrawing from the case and has filed papers with the judge of workers compensation claims. He cited distance being the issue. Odd thing though his partner (same office) represents a coworker of mine with the exact same claim who lives 5 minutes from me. Then I start getting letters from a Law firm I never even heard of telling me to sign papers to have them represent me in this same case. I ignored them for some time before finally getting on my present attorneys *ss and threating to go to the Florida bar and complain. Well suddenly he is back on the case

. I am confident after giving a recent deposition for over an hour (over a year later) with the states representing attorney (my attorney present) where my attorney sat quietly and never said a word sending me a clearer message he has no interest in this case. I need another Attorney. However in the mean time my question is this did my attorney break the law in anyway in withdrawing from the case without any notice and handing my case to a completely different Law firm? My other question is this when I was injured I was assigned a W/C quack doctor who says I'm fine however I (my attorney) requested to see another specific doctor recently at this depo. Turns out this doctor is "no longer on their list" and am now being sent over an hour from my home (transportation provided). My coworker has a doctor same issue cardio, 5 minutes away? I am being told by my attorney that a one time change of Physician means they get to choose the doctor and apparently time and location. Is this true? because all I have done is go where they sent me so far. So if my attorney was able to request a specific doctor and he is not on the list then why can't I pick another

.I am under the belief that I can choose my Doctor from a provided list which I continue to hound my attorney for with little/no results

can I insist on a local doctor who takes W/C cases????? My attorney states their are few Cardiologist in the area who take W/C cases...... Based on what I stated earlier which is true I speak to this coworker regularly I think my attorney is simply lying. I would be traveling 3 county's away and find it difficult to believe the State has no Cardiologist for 3 county's. I know it's a workers comp game to get you to go away. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
