Default Wages Already Garnished, What Else Can They Get?
I live in California. I received a notice from my employer today informing me of an EWO issued against me from an unpaid credit card debt. I am literally living paycheck to paycheck. I am filing a Claim of Exemption and will be awaiting the outcome. Does the EWO prohibit them from going after my bank account balance? Will they and/or can they go after whatever tax refund I may end up with?

No. The EWO does not prevent them from filing for a separate order for a bank levy.

They can try to sue you for it.

Am I to understand that theoretically they could legally end up with all of my paycheck if they chose to do so?

Could they levy my bank account repeatedly?

If I were to file my return and receive a refund, can they sue me for my
refund after I have already received it?
