Exclamation Relinquishing Parental Rights in Colorado
My situation is a bit complicated, sorry if it takes a while to explain. My husband was married to a woman who got pregnant by another man. she told my husband several times that this child was not his yet put his name on the birth certificate in order to get child support. The child is now almost 5 and my husband has not been allowed to see the kid since he was 5 months old. We are wanting to relinquish parental rights since the child doesn't even know my husband exists. She has told her current husband that he is the father of the baby(which we beleive he is) and he doesn't know that my husband is paying child support. We submitted a petition for relinquishment to the courts and got it back for some unexplained reason. Now no one seems to know how to go about handling this. We want to get it done as quickly as possible. Does anyone have any suggestions? Please help!

Why didn't your husband seek visitation through the courts?

Why didn't your husband challenge his paternity during divorce proceedings?
