How far back can a creditor legally collect on a debt or sue you in California?
What type of debt & when was the last action (ie last payment) made on the debt? I was wondering if the SOL might be elapsed. (not that they still can't sue you, but you can use that as your defense)
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.

According to Fair Debt Collection and IHateDebt.com, the California
statue of limitations on the collection of debt is as follows:
Oral agreements: 2 years
Written contracts: 4 years
Promissory notes: 4 years
Open accounts (such as credit cards): 4 years
