Default My rights to be on the birth certificate
My former girlfriend is due in April. We had a rather traumatic breakup and I suspect she may be trying to get back with her former husband. The child she is carrying is mine, but she states she will not acknowledge that nor have my name on the birth certificate, as well as not allow me near her at the hospital. I am the father and want to have that on the certificate, as well as be involved in this process.

Default Paternity Issue
Your girlfriend's divorce was complete prior to the time of conception? (If she was married at that time, things could potentially become even more complicated.)

If she was divorced, and won't consent to your being named on the birth certificate, you will likely have to file a Complaint for Parentage with a Tennessee Court, and have the court order a DNA test to determine paternity. If the test shows you to be the father, the court should issue an order holding that you are the father (and probably at the same time ordering child support and granting visitation). The birth certificate would ordinarily then be amended (upon submission of proper documentation) to identify you as the father.
