I didn't want to continue to add to the administrators work on editing the thread where the daughter is being charge with statutory rape.

I did want to address Chimera's replies though.

To whoever said a 14 yr old boy cannot consent to sex: Are you kidding? $15 says that the kid wanted to have sex, so yes, that's consent. Doesn't make it legal though, and doesn't make it right.


The woman has to deal with the consequences. It's her fault she decided to get drunk and have reckless sex with strangers-- this is the result. But the fact that she wants to be a teacher is troubling. She's not the kind of person I would want teaching my kids... and I don't even have kids!

You do admit that is is wrong, however, it appears you are minimizing the crime here. He can not consent, the law recognizes him as a child and his state has passed laws to protect children from being victimized.

There's a big difference between a most likely mature looking 14 year old going through puberty that wants to have sex with anything that moves, and an 8 year old. Because 8 year olds don't think about sex nor want it.

So if a child is mature looking, then it's not that big of a deal? Huh?

Or the fact that he is/has gone through puberty and has raging hormones, then he wanted the 24 year old to seduce him?

I know 8 year olds that have gone though puberty at a young age. I suppose they are fair game too?

It is the comments that you make that seems you don't think it's such a big deal. It isn't just you in that thread that seems to be doing that.

However, I don't know why anyone is trying to shift the blame on others or bring up all the illegal things that happened in that house that night.

They are irrelevant when it comes to what this 24 year old woman did and the fact that she should be held accountable for it.

I feel many would be looking to casterate the rapist (if male) that suggests a double standard. So minor boys arent effected by rape? Yes they are. I found many of the post (like ones mentioned here) enabling and giving justification to the pedophiles. thats just my opinion. as a Father of five ranging from age 6 to 17 I was appalled by some of the replies and voiced that displeasure.

The double standard does exist, it has gotten better in the past several years, but it has a long way to go. Educating people about the law and hoping they understand what victims go through when something like this happens to them - is a start.

If anything it's harder for boys...They are "expected" to be thrilled when raped by a woman...How difficult it must be for them if they are truly not.

I recall my first time and it was scary and I had no one to talk to about except the boasting I did for my 5 seconds of glory lol. I reframed from any repeats for 3 years after that. It effected how and whom I approached for female companionship and dealt a severe blow to my self esteem. I became a differnt person and not always a pleasant one for a time period and my alcoholism began to spiral out of control around that time as well. I started missing school list goes on. I sorted it out myself (not without scars) later. So I know that these expereinces do effect you and not in a good way. In my case it wasnt a rape( like in thread) just peer pressure. Two underage unable to consent minors If it had been a rape like in the thread we are talking about it might have been worse

I already know you admit what she did was wrong, but I don't understand why some people don't believe the child was a victim.

Neither do you. I'm just using common sense. She didn't hold a gun to his head. He was a soccer player, which tells me he is pretty strong. So if he was held against his will, I don't think he had a problem getting away.


YOU talk about the legal standpoint like it's common sense and it's not. "Legally" he can't consent, but guess what, it's about an 80% likelihood that he did. Note the word likelihood.

OF COURSE NOT!!!!! My FIRST post on the matter said that she HAS TO DEAL WITH THE CONSEQUENCES AND IT'S HER FAULT.
