Question Social Security Adult-Child Disability Benefits

I am 23, male, from Alabama. I am on Adult-Child Disability. So my benefits are based on my dad's social security, instead of my own. I have 2 questions.

    1. Would I remain under Adult-Child Disability if I were to move out of my parents house, or would my benefits change?

    2. Would my benefits change if I were to get married?

This has been very confusinng to me. I've tried researching for this info, but everything I've found on Adult-Child Disability just talks about what it is, if you qualify, and how to apply. Nothing talks about being on Adult-Child Disablity.

I spoke with one lady on the phone from Social Security about this and she just added to the confusion. She told me that moving out wouldn't effect my benefits at all, but I were to marry someone who's not on disability also, then my entire disability would be terminated.
Now that doesn't make any sense to me, and I can't find anything that says that.

So pls if you know anymore about this than I do, then help me to understand this situation.

Default Re: Social Security Adult-Child Disability Benefits

Question: I Am on Title II Benefits (Adult Disabled Child or SSDI). What Do I Need to Report?
Answer: You need to report when you start work if you will earn $200 or more a month. You need to report any month in which you earn more than $500 a month. You also need to report any change in your living situation, such as getting married, moving, or a new child.

You need to report any of the above to the soc. sec. admin. - it *might* make a difference in your benefits.
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.
