    Default I Have Custody, Someone Else Has Guardianship, They Won't Allow Me To See Her

    I have court ordered sole physical custody of my stepdaughter. Neither of her natural born parents have parenting time with her of any kind. She is special needs, and I needed help with her. I turned to a family friend to give me a short break. I live in IN they live in KY. I signed guardianship paperwork simply so they could start recieving her SSI check. Since then, they enrolled her in school and will not return my calls or allow me to visit with her. We had an oral agreement that this would only be a temporary situation. Can I just go to KY and take her home with me, or did I lose my rights to her? I don't really understand what has happened?! All I know is I want her back home and she won't even allow me to see her at all. Where do I go from here?

    What do the guardianship papers specify? Do they specify that it's only temporary guardianship?

    You need a lawyer.

    Was this guardianship done through a court?
    What do the guardianship papers say?
    Agree, you might need a lawyer.
