What is the penalty to pay in New York for the forgery of 5 checks done during years 2006 and 2007 ? Approximately of $ 2,500 each.
Thank you

Did you cash the checks?

You need a lawyer to get this taken care of. That kind of money is bank fraud, which can land you in jail for up to 30 years, not to mention hefty fines.

Don't know how New York looks at it, but, I've successfully prosecuted folks that have wrote checks in my store and got as much as 3 felony charges PER CHECK!.......

1. Knowingly writing a bad check
2. Knowingly writing a check on a closed/frozen account
3. Forgery: either for altering the routing/account numbers; signing a name other than their own.

Get a big shovel 'cause you are in real deep!
