I was caught driving with no insurance on my pickup truck, and was given a court summons. I have already been once, and got them to reschedule or whatever the correct term is. What defense can i use or have?

minimum fine under ontario traffic law is $5000 dollars and a possible licence suspension. Is it possible to ask for community service or a smaller fine?

Although, IMO, you should consult with an attorney. The penalties for driving without insurance are severe. For a first offense it is a minimum, mandatory $5000 fine up to $25,000 if found guilty.

I don't know anything about the possibility of getting community service or a smaller fine.
