Is it legal to possess two driver's licenses

A few days ago, I got arrested due to DUI. The officer took my driver's license. I didn't have GA driver's license, I had Illinois driver's license.

My attoney advised me to try to get a dupulicated licese from IL, and get a GA's driver's license prior to court date and administrative hearing date. By having GA's driver's license, I will get a hardship driver's license if I convicted DUI.

I found that I still possessed FL driver's license. I guess when I got a new driver's license in California, they didn't take it from me.(were they supposed to take it from me?, I don't remember how I still kept that. But this is not I did intentionally.)

So, today I went to DMV office in Atlanta with my valid FL driver's license and applied for a GA driver's license and I received it. Is it llegal?? my FL driver's license had expiration date on 2007.

Right, I discussed with my attorney.
But he said, "Your case is very interesting!"
It's not interesting at all to me!!

Is there any has two valid driver's license?
Is it illegal? Any one has any idea?
Or is it ellegal to apply another state's license while home license is being held by the office although it's not suspended yet because the court date is not yet.

Help me out.

Perhaps it is a bit late, but I have three valid DLs. I did not obtain them on purpose, but they just came to be. One is from another country I lived in for three years the other two are NY and NJ. I only use the NY DL; however, the NYPD recently found all three on me and they did not mention a thing--oh actually they jokingly asked if I was a spy. I don't suggest you carry them all around with you, but I'm sure that if you are not possessing them for illegal purposes you will not be charged with anything.
