Default Military Law, Divorce and Repossession

I am active duty and recently divorced. My ex is supposed to refinance his truck and boat into his name because they are still in both names. Now, he is not making the payments. Can these companies have the money deducted from my pay even though my divorce decree states I will be held harmless? I am very concerned because I am barely hanging in there with everything and this will destroy everything that I have been able to achieve since the divorce. He is only doing this to get back at me. He makes 6 figures while I am struggling with two kids. Help.

Yes they can. This is not a Military problem this is a civil problem. If you are on the loan for the vehicle. Then you can be held accountable for the payments as well. Being your in the military you should contact your base legal department for assistance on this matter. If need be get a refferal to base legal from your plattoon commander or company first sargent.

How ever you did not explain how they are in both of your names. I am guessing they are financed in both of your names. If they are just registered in both of your names then they can not do anything to you. But if your on the loan paper work then you need to get this dealt with asap.

If it goes into collections you could be punished by your command as well.
