$13K!!! Get a lawyer! Then, get a BIG shovel, you are definitely in deep!!!

This cannot be your first time funds-filchin'??? Of course you could be giving new meaning to go-big-or-stay-on-the-porch!

Curiosity is killin' me though.....what were you thinking, or not, that you could get away with a big score like that?

Jus' wonderin'.....................

Do you not have an attorney (yet!) ???? Keep the repayment/restitution funds handy...........

It sounds like you would be pleading guilty to a "wobbler", a charge that can be either a felony or misdemeanor, with your lawyer suggesting that if you successfully complete your probation (and perhaps fulfill other requirements) the court may ultimately modify the conviction charge to a misdemeanor. To find out for sure, ask your lawyer.

Ejock keep us posted with your case. I was arrested for the same thing but nothing close to $13k. Don't know about you but I made a dumb mistake and am fearing the worst. Hopefully everything gets resolved outside of incarceration. My prayers are with ya.

they want the money first of all, not you,
i did the same mistake,
had money in hand to pay them back on the spot they did not want to dropped it to a misdemeanor, so my attorney told me, screwed them pay them in payments
im in CA too, what is hot on the sentencing right now in CA
is 180 days jail or work release
3 years of probation and of course restitution
one of the guys which is doing community service took 60,000 and is doing community service

im doing community work right now, Best advice dont do the Caltrans deal
try to get a least a park or even better, work for a city yard like im doing
which is kind of cool mellow let you go home early sometimes
and its not actually 180 days you only do 120
best of luck!!!!!!! and if you do get that felony dont give up,
