Default Midland Credit Company Warrant Of Debt
Hi,

Today I received a warrant in debt from Midland Funding llc. It is for 1275.74 and $48.00 in court costs. The origininal credit card was for $300.00, when I lost my job I just couldnt pay and aspire visa would not work with me so the debt just kept escalading. It has been since 2002 since anything was ever paid on that card. They are wanting to go to court in mid march. What is interesting is that the lawyers that sent this live across the other side of the state and I live on the very end of the other side. I would not imagine that the lawyer would drive this far for a debt this small, but I dont know what to do. My letters have gone unanswered, I would like to pay what I think is fair back however I dont think what they want is fair considering the original debt was $300.00 actually it was paid down to $150.00 What do you think I can do? I plan on going to court and would like to beat this debt. I just recently ended up going on short term disability for back injuries and just dont have the means to pay anything right now. Our regular bills are killing us right now.

Help!

Erin

If you do not successfully negotiate a settlement, and do not appear and defend, they will get a default judgment against you.

What grounds do you have to dispute the debt?
