Unhappy Collection From Mann Bracken
The web is full of sites with this Collection agencies name. And it is scary.
I received a letter from them. And I have 30 days to contact them. But I am scared. They are the 3rd or 4th collection agencies. Thank god they do not have my home address or my work phone. They call during the day while I am at work. But leave no message. At least I think it is them.
Anyway, This a Dell problem. I had a concern about my Dell acct. And every I called Dell in India (cause that is the only place you can call) I kept getting the run arounds. They passed me to alot of diferent phone extensions and people. Or the phone would disconnect me after being on hold for 30 minutes or longer. After trying to get some help for about 1 1/2 months. I gave up. Then it went to a collection agency. I told them I did not mind paying $1,300. what the computer cost. And they would not budge. Then another agency started calling at home and sending me mail to P.O. box. I finally got them to agree to let me pay what is owed. BUT they sent a letter that said pay what is owed, but then it also said that the I.R.S would know of the $600. forgiveness. Which I take that I have to pay taxes on to I.RS. I told them take that off and I will pay it. But they refussed. The $600. is late charges accruad from Dell not getting with me and I feel I should not have to pay them. It is Dells fault for not having people that can help. And did try every phone# I could find. From the paper work on the PC to looking in the Internet for any different number that I might not have tried. But Mann Bracken wants $2,055.95. I do not know if they will allow me to pay just what is due. I want to get a recorder and record any calls I make to Mann Bracken. But let them know that they are being recorded. Since I think that is the only way it is legal to record them or anybody.
Please if any one can help, PLEASE DO
P.S. I live in Texas

Budd Hibb's website had something up about these a-holes. You want to dispute the debt as soon as you can. Make them validate the debt even if it is past the 30 days. ...and arbitration is basically their way of buying off the judge legally. Read up on this and start calling your Senator. Arbitration is the punch line to the disregarding consumer rights joke that America has become.
