I live in California and the other day I was caught at my job doing returns without the products being there [embezzlement]. I wrote a statement to my employer stating I would pay all that I embezzled which was $480. The cops came and arressted me and I got on bail. My court date was on Feb. 5 2008 in which I showed up and the judge said it was a misdemeanor but they didn't have a public defender available so they rescheduled it to Feb. 26, 2008 instead. Could I possibly be facing jail time even though I made a deal with my employer to pay it all back and it's my first offense ever and nothing on my record except for this?
