    Default Disinheriting Children Internationally

I live in one State in the US and own property there, but also have property in Germany. I have dual citizenship.
I do live in the US, but that could change.

If I choose to disinherit a child, how would my dual status affect that. My child also has dual citizenship.
Would it be of importance where I die??

    Thank you for any help

Your disinheritance would have to be effective in every jurisdiction where property is located, including Germany. I have no way of knowing if Germany would permit you to disinherit your child.

You should consider creating a living trust, and transferring ownership of your property to the trust. (I don't know if Germany permits that). That way you don't need to probate the real estate in order to pass it to your heirs, a contest becomes improbable, and if you own real estate in a state with bizarre laws (like Louisiana's "forced heirship" laws) your disinheritance should nonetheless be effective.
