Unhappy Knee Injury
Hello I am new to this . I was injured on the job in Texas. I twisted my knee and heard it pop. When I tried to walk it felt like my knee was on fire. After numerous doctor visits I received surgery on my left knee. The doctor was a great doctor and had had the same operation himself and told me I need to change professions or go back to school to do something else. I asked why and he said that this would have to be operated on again sometime in the future. My compensation was cut nearly in half when I was sent to a workers compensation doctor who did a impairment rating and he seemed to aggravate it more than it was. Now they are telling me they are cutting my benefits out after april. While on light duty, before they fired me,I was harassed. The boss was calling me stupidas# ,dumbas#,dumbfuc#,stupidfuc#. I have been kicked in the rearend and was threatened that if I couldn't do heavy lifting that I had to go to the house. What are my options because I am totally lost. Thank you for your time.

Why are your benefits ending? Have you maxed out your benefits, or is something else going on?

My benefits are ending because of the Impairment Rating. The doctor which was a workers comp designated,(which means I had no choice in the doctor), aggravated it more because there is more swelling since his rating tests were run . He gave me a low rating but I can't hardly bend my knee and this is after Physical therapy. I was then sent to another workmans comp doctor to see if there was anything that could be done and he never looked at my knee or ordered x-rays or an MRI, but was prompt to tell the insurance company that I was able to go back to work. Oilfield work requires alot of running up and down stairs all day and alot of bending and kneeling. I cannot do this because after I stand or walk on it for longer than 20 minutes I am in pain. The doctor who did my test hurt it more because before I could walk or stand for 30-35 minutes before the pain got too severe. Thank you for your time.
