Question Workers Compensation In Georgia
In December of 1999, I injured myself on the job(back and knee). I have two cases. How can i find out information about workmens compensation in my State(GA). I want to know is there a statue of limations for how long a case can be held? I also want to know whether or not a settlement is dependent upon my having surgery. Will I be compensated for my pain and suffering for the years I've been under workmens comp? Can I settle one case while still being treated for the other?

Here's information on worker's compensation in Georgia, and links to resources.

You have two cases because you had two separate injuries, or did you somehow get two open files out of a single injury?

I don't know what you are talking about, in relation to a statute of limitations. You filed your claim back in 1999 and are getting benefits, so the statute of limitations isn't an issue.

If you decline surgery that could improve your condition, that could lead to a smaller settlement offer. The nature and terms of any settlement offer are up to the insurer.
