Default Paternity Rights In New York
Please someone help me - i think that i have fathered my ex girlfriends baby. she was living with me and just recently upped and left with the baby back to ny state. i still do not know if i am the father and i want to find out. i have pieces of my daughter's hair. how do i go about establishing paternity. thanks so much for any help

You can file in court to establish paternity. The court will order a DNA test, to be done in controlled circumstances.

You can do this by filing pro-se, which is not a good idea. Or, you can hire an attorney, which can be expensive, or you can contact your state's CS enforcement agency and file for paternity and CS through them.
