    Default Telephone Harrassment

I have been charged with telephone harrassment !!!

I had been having a dispute with my daycare provider, About procedures and an employee lying to us about an incident. today we got a letter from them asking us to seek other services, cause were behind in our payments.

I called DCP and spoke to the director, asked her what needed to be done, she advised that we needed to make a payment.. OK

I aksed her about the incident, she replied, that the employee said we were lying. I said fine Ill just pull the kids out, how can you be trusted to watch out kids if they lie about something simple.. She said fine what ever..

I told my GF, who said maybe I should apoligize, sine our sone loves it there, I tried to call back for 45 mins, but no one answed, I did not leave a message.. I get a call 2 hours later, from an informant, that Im being formally charged with telephone harrassment

Is the complaint from the police or just by word of mouth for the moment?

    Usually.....what happens....
They (DCP) call the police and tell them this number 123-4567 keeps calling, I'd like to file charges against them.
The police then call the number 123-4567 and speak to you. You then tell them you meant no harm, you were trying to apologize and didn't realize that they thought that. The police say, don't call them again if you do, you will be charged with telephone harrassment. You say okay. You call back, you get charged.
    This is what normally happens....

Just WOM.. but very reliable Source.. I'm sure Ill get a call in the morning from the PD about this... but how does one not call their daycare provider.. it makes for an extremely touchy situation ..

I'm thinking I should pull my kids out, but my son is very comfortable, there, I would hate to traumatize him by moving him to another school

I mean no offense here but this is half the problem with kids these days. Traumatized by changing day care centers? Honestly, what horrible damage do you think is going to happen when you tell him he's going someplace new to meet new people, do fun new things? Let him know that he can make play dates with his old friends.
Brace him for change and teach him to deal.....theres lots of it in his future.

Prevent this in the future by picking and choosing your battles with DCP. It comes down to trust...do you trust them with your child? If yes, pay the bill and on time. If it's no, then pay the bill and don't call them back and don't take your child back there. What your saying and may not realize it is....I'm placing my son in a place that I don't trust bc he likes it. Does this even make since?

Using threats to the DCP (as per your post) is not a tactic that they are not used to. They have to document incidents, you can agree with their version of events or disagree with them. Discuss the problems at hand. What is not up for discussion is payment. They provided a service.

You can always call the police and ask them if charges have been filed as you heard they may be. They will say yes or no.
