Workmen's Comp and Social Security Disability

I live in MA. It has been a year since my work-related injury, and a year since I've been able to work. I had my appointment and officially applied for social security disability benefits today. My question is, if I am approved to receive SSDI will the government be able to take a piece of my lump-sum settlement from workmen's comp once that is settled? I have, and still am receiving weekly benefits from w/comp.

I live in MA--please read post below for clarity to this question--does the fact that you have been on w/comp and being paid by an insurance company that deems that you are unable to work (disabled) work in my favor as far as approval for SSDI?
