Fender Bender In Parking Lot In Michigan

Michigan is a no fault state

Question is..

THe other day a man was backing out of a parking spot and I was just pulling out of a spot as well. He bumped me, and we both got out of our vehicles to check it out. There a some minor damages to my vehicle and very minor to his if any.

we did not call the police and I did get his insurance info, name and address. I did not give him and of my information.

When I call his insurance company they do not have any information on him.

I read that a parking lot is a private property and that the police will not respnd to a minor fender bender and it is up to those involved to get info.

My question is, should I try to file a report (is it to late now?)
And because i didn't give any info to the other person involved could i be in trouble?

You can try to file a report. Nobody here knows what your local P.D. might do.

Why would you be in trouble for not giving the other driver your information?
