My employer gives out vacation time based upon the number of hours worked. For example, every 32 hours worked gives your 1 hour of vacation time. Also, the hours are earned starting after 30 days, but can't be used until after 1 year. So, I've been accruing my vacation hours for almost 9 months now. The way the company states it is that I have earned 25 vacation hours for next year. If I decide to quit before I hit one year, do I lose those vacation hours? Or am I entitled to them? Also, my employer has ETO (earned time off) in addition to sick and vacation time. So for example, right now I have 18 ETO hours, 25 vacation hours, and some sick time. I understand that in MA I'm not entitled to the sick time. Are there any laws in MA about ETO? Is ETO entitled like vacation time or is it similar to sick time?
