Question Reached MMI, Now Employer Let Me Go
I was injuried in Nov of 2006,at work after a long fight with insurance I had surgery in may of 2007, when back to work on light duty in nov 2007. and had a MMI also at that time, where I was limited to 50 lb lift, now in Jan 2008 I received a letter from my employer that said they no longer have modified work for me and let me go. I live in Texas. also my mmi was 10. can they let me go without even offering me another postition?

The worker's compensation system does not guarantee job availability. If your employer has no work to give you, your employer can lay you off. That could increase your lost wage benefits and/or qualify you for unemployment.
