Default Signing A Quit Claim Without Knowledge In Colorado

    Hi

I was new to this country when I bought a house and my brother added his name on to the title since he had been staying here for a long time. I was paying all mortgages and continued doing so till I lost my job for a few months and he said he would help out paying the mortgage. We took up paying mortgage once I got another job and repaid money. I have spent on all home improvements and landscaping. Two years ago when he said he was helping out he said he would refinance the house and that I did not need to go and during this process he brought some papers and apparently slipped in a quit claim deed in it. I came to know of it only last year. Being hurt I moved out of the house and he has sold the house with a verbal commitment that he would pay me with the profit he made. He has his own half a million dollar home but he cheated me. He never paid me any money from the sale and it has been over 4 months. Is there nothing I could do? I would really appreciate some legal advice and what I can do. Thanks in advance.

I would say that you do have a claim but everything depends on the particular circumstances. You need to consult an attorney in your area.
