Let me start off by saying that i have read the literature regarding Emancipation, child support, deviations and support orders till im blue in the gills.
Nothing in the literature seems to point out to a set of rules to follow. So im writing for some serious hand holding and serious guidance. Anyone please feel free.
My daughter is 16 will be 17 in just 2 months, she recently gave birth to my grandson and is currently living with the childs father.
I am the non custodial parent and have been paying child support since she was a wee pampered lil brat. Ohh if forgot, she lives in North carolina, and i Live in New York. My support order originated from North carolina.
From the phone calls im getting my daughter is on her own and the mother, my ex, does nothing to help out at all.
Now granted im not looking to stop the child support, but certianly hoping to change the hands of the recipient. I dont think its appropriate that the Mom sit home collecting my hard earned cash and not use it to support my daughter. This arrangement sucks. Do i have options.
All the calls ive made ended in a dead end and all the reading i've done just spins me in circles. Please any information would be helpful.
