Default Fired Before Returning To Work After Job Injury
Hi,

I am sorry again for my not good english , but hope my posting will be understandable. This forum is realy helpful! Wish everyone Happy New Year!

I was injured on job in September 2007. I am still not able to go back to work and I am under WCB case. I sent an email to my employer that I will be back to work after two weeks, approximately. He sent me an answer I am fired. I am confused now and dont know what should I do. Do I have to receive some official letter from him, am I elligible for unemployment benefits (I was working only four months fot this company)???? Is there anybody with similar case as mine?

If you were fired, you should be eligible for unemployment benefits. Depending upon your state, there is likely to be some coordination between any remaining worker's compensation benefits for your lost wages, and any unemployment claim. (Most likely you would collect worker's comp until you are fit for work or the benefits are cut off, then start collecting unemployment.)
