Default Worker's Comp Or Personal Injury
I live in Mississippi and was injuried on the premises of my part-time employer. I slipped at the front entrance and broke my arm. I was not actually working, but entering the bldg to begin work. Would this be an woker's compension issue or personal injury issue?

Default Re: Worker's Comp Or Personal Injury
If you slipped on the threshold of your employer's premises while entering to begin a shift, I would expect it to be a worker's comp case. In most states, even an injury falling in a parking lot adjacent to your workplace can be covered by comp, if you fall while on your way in or out of work.

Unfortunately, I haven't found any authority for Mississippi addressing this precise issue. Your employer's comp carrier, though, will only approve the claim if it is covered.
