    Post Served Judgement In Wisconsin

I was served with papers from a credit card company in which I had accrued charges 7 years ago...I have not had nor used the card for 4 years...I had charged an amount around $7,000 and over about 3-4 years had paid them a total of $9,000. They are sueing for over $7,000 which would, I assume, be all finance charges. I had not received a bill or heard from them in probably a year and then my house went into the initial proceddings of foreclosure (It never got foreclosed on because I sold it first) and then all of the sudden this popped out of the woodwork. If I paid off well over the amount I ever initially charged in the first place, shouldn't that be enough of a defense?

The SOL on a credit card in Wi. is 6 years.

Creditors have the right to request interest/finances charges that are due.
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.
