I am nineteen years old, and I live in Kansas.
I recently was caught shoplifting an item that cost from a 50 to 70 dollars from Fort Leavenworth PX.
When MPs took me to the Military Police Investigation office
I admited the act and wrote down what had happend.
I was given a U.S. District Court Violation Notice
with the offense charge of KSA 21-3701 (state code)
one of the MPs said since I was honest and a first timer I might only receive a fine little over a $200.
If not, they will submit a mail for me to appear in court.
What should I do?
I am scared to death and have nightmares telling this to my parents.
and school... my job..
If i get a letter to appear in court. is there anyway for me to get any kind of lawful help since i can not hire a lawyer
if i end up going to court. since i admited the act will it stay under my name?
if so how much do i need to wait until i could expunge it..
can i tak diversion so i can get it off my name?
is there any way i could tell a judge or something that i am a student taking honored classes and working my way towards scholarships and that i screwed up once and really learned my lessons.. I am willing to do anything like take classes, comunity servieces whatever it is i need to do.. i hope they dont record it under my name..
please advice me
