Default What To Do About Expired Checks

I have several old checks from a contractor totalling more than $2,000.00. Of course on them it says, "void if over 90 days". They actually go back to 2005. All still have the check still attached to the stub. What is the best course of action to take on this??...I still want this money that's due to me. Do I need attorney intervention if they refuse??

First, you simply need to ask for a re-issued check. If you have problems, then you need to deal with it but for the amount involved, an attorney would typically be cost prohibitive and small claims court would be the likely avenue.

I called them previously. They said to send them back, so they could take a look at them. I tried to give them the numbers off them for verification, but they still said they needed them to be sent back. I made copies of them before I sent them, so I do still have the copies. I sent them a letter, the originals, and mailed them back!!..It's been over 60 days and no response.

Send a demand letter certified return receipt requested giving the a limited but defined period of time to re-issue the checks and if the do not come through with the cash, take them to court.
