Exclamation Assault In Canada
Hello, I live in Toronto, Canada. Me and my boyfriend got into a fight one night. I slapped him and he threw me to the ground to restrain me. When I was let up I called the police because the fight was totally out of controll and needing some intervention. I was very drunk when the police came and was not able to communicate with them clearly. My boyfriend told them that I had not hurt him and that he was not affraid of me but he was in fear that I may try calling the police again resulting in him getting in trouble. The police arrested and charged me with assult. I was jailed over night and at bail hearing was let out on my own recog. I have been told I can not return to my appartment where we both live so I am now homeless. I also work for the city and am in fear that I may lose my job because I am not to have an criminal charges. I have no prior record at all. What are the chances that this charge will actually stick to me? Will I be given the chance to have this wiped off my record if I seek councelling or sentenced to councelling? How can I have the conditions of bail changed so that I may return home?
thank you
female in trouble

Default Re: Assault In Canada
I suggest consulting a criminal defense lawyer, and getting into treatment for your alcoholism.
