    Default Understanding Why People Shoplift

    I don't understand, why people continue to shoplift! Bottom-line it is stealing!

    And the folks that don’t understand the repercussions, and come to the forum ‘whining and crying’, proclaiming their innocence!

    Duh! The consequences are: arrests, court dates, and civil demands.

    Think before you act! Just advice from someone that has been there!

    People will continue to break the law in every way, shape, and form. Always. So this thread is pointless.

    Mostly because there is an instinctive recognition that all this crap isnt worth anything anyway, it is a social product and might as well be free, since it belongs to us anyway, and no one loses by the act, since all "losses" are just accounting tricks.

    The only use for a consumer product is to be consumed. Adjust your own god-damned accounts!

    You cannot begin to get your answer because there are so many reasons. Perhaps if you sat in on a Shoplifters Anonymous meeting you could begin to but even then I doubt it. You wont find your answer here sorry

    As Jane's Addiction said,
    Quote Quoting Been Caught Stealing
    I've been caught stealing;
    once when I was 5...
    I enjoy stealing.
    It's just as simple as that.
    Well, it's just a simple fact.
    When I want something,
    I don't want to pay for it.

    Do a google search - you can come up with a lot of reasons why people steal.
    Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.
