To quitclaim or not

Hi,
I have a question I was hoping someone could help me with. My mother is 84 and recently her health started to fail. Since she finally paid off her mortgage 2 years ago she is afriad that all her hardwork will be for nothing and wanted to sign the house over to her children.

A friend of mine who went through something similair suggested a QUITCLAIM DEED and gave me info on it. When I called the number that they gave me, the person on the phone suggested a QUITCLAIM isn't all that great to do.

I'm just at a loss. I know it would ease her mind to have this taken care of but I don't know where to begin. I know I probably need to go to a lawyer but since my mother is basically bedridden now, she is very panicky about going to a lawyer. What options do I have with this.
