My son is 17 , his girlfriend is 15, and she is almost 2 months pregnant. They are residing in the state of Michigan with her Mother. She is afraid to tell her mom about the pregnancy and wants to move to Tennessee with her boyfriend to his mothers.
Is she automatically able to leave the state with or without the consent of her mother ? Is her pregnancy an automatic emancipation in that state, for it isnt listed in the Michigan laws as a part of emancipation. It simply doesnt exist in their law books. The child refuses to tell her mother, and is afraid of the response she will receive if she tells her and tells her she wants to leave michigan and go to Tennessee ....
any advice as to what can be done to emotionally protect the 15 yr old pregnant teen , she is also afraid of a physical outburst, which could result in damage to the unborn. This girl will turn 16 in April and then have a child of her own. Statutory rape charges is a possibility, but would be a dumb one on the mothers part for she has allowed this relationship to continue for years.
The teen is also emotionally abused by her family.
