Default Assault And Battery Charge In North Carolina
I filed an assault and battery charge against my brother's wife, because she yelled at me and hit me at my house. After few days we worked the issue out among our selfs but the cops were served her with the paper and now she has a court date next month which I am not required to attend. What do I need to do if I need to stop this going to the court and drop the charges against her?

Thank you very much in advance.

It's not up to you at this point. Once you make the complaint to the police, it's up to the state attorney or DA's office to decide if they will pursue charges or not. You can certainly make your wishes known, but they will often go with the case if they think they can make it. Do you know what exact crime they charged her with (simple battery maybe)?
