Default Physical confrontation with my mothers boyfriend
I was in a physical confrontation with my mothers boyfriend, he slammed into the wall twice consecutively and rasied back to hit me. He didnt do it so i went to call the police and he snatched the phone out the wall. He proceeded to go outside and call the police himself to tell them he wanted me off of his property. When they got there I told them the situation and that i wanted to do something about it if i could. they told me it would be domestic violence and since it happened in front of my 11 year old sister that both parties would go to jail. I told them i wanted to proceed with the action. Well they made me leave for the night but never ever took a report from me. Im not sure of the law on this but i would still like to take action. what is the law and what can i do about this matte?

Default Domestic Violence
It sounds like (a) the police tried to intimidate you out of making a report by falsely suggesting that the person who reports domestic violence also goes to jail, then (b) didn't take the report anyway.

Is there a domestic violence / battered women's shelter in the area? They may have some suggestions for dealing with that police department.
