Drugs Found In Vehicle, While Moving Someone Else's Car

I have a family member who is really confused on her charge, she had ilegal drugs in her vehicle on another person they where moving it forsomeone, and she was charged for having it in her car is that what is sapoused to happen, was this an ilegal search? or was it the law?!
