    Default Scammed At eBay

    Here goes my story.

I bought a iphone from a seller called jessg2524 on ebay, the seller had around 15 positive feedbacks when the iphone was listed. I bought the phone for $510 and only had to pay $471 cause the seller wanted to use Western union. Stupid as I was I did and the seller confirmed that money had been recived and told me that the iphone was shipped.
Some days pass, and I didn't recive the phone in mail, so I emailed the seller asking for tracking number, the seller exuced and said that no tracking number was given. Then I asked for a reciept and never got any mail back, then I contacted ebay afraid for being scammed, after many mails and hours with talking with ebay I filed a "Item not recived dispute", and of course, the seller filed a "money not recived dispute" and I was given a "unpaid item strike". I have talked with ebay and they can't do anything cause I didnt pay trough paypal, now this is the part that really pisses me off, the seller had scammed 2 others at the same time as me, and as of this day the seller is still on ebay.

It's almost been a month since I paid now, and ebay have first told me that I would probably get my money back, then later they just said I couldnt get it back cause I used western union bank.

I paid the money to a person called "Jess seeker" but when I ask for contact information, I get a person called "Jesse *****"

What I have: Confirmation of the seller's payment instructions, reciept of the money being sent and picked up by the seller, and also a mail from the seller that the seller has recived the money and sent the item.

What can I do to get my money back? I have sent a mail to the police where the seller lives.

    Edit:

I live in Norway, and have been in contact with our "usersadvice" company, and they said that there was nothing they could do since the item was bought in USA and they have no power outside of any "EUS land"

Additional question, I also recived a mail from the seller telling the that the contact information was falce, and so was the name of the seller, if that is true, is there anything ebay can be held for? If the seller is in fact a fake and ebay allowed a "fake" to sell items trough there site?

    Thanks for any answers.

There's no good solution for you. You can't prosecute the seller without travel (on one or more occasions) to the U.S. to assist in the prosecution. You can sue the seller locally, but you'll get a judgment you can't automatically enforce in the U.S., and you would probably need to hire a lawyer to register it (likely at a cost significantly over the amount of the judgment). You can travel to the U.S. and sue, but again at considerable cost and inconvenience.

eBay won't remove the false report from your account, even with your documenting the payment through Western Union?

Western Union should be able to provide you with proof that the money sent was received. At least that might help the negative feedback issue.

Ebay removed the unpaid item dispute against me, but not because of the emails I sent to them with copys of the confirment of payment to the seller, but since it was the first time I have had a dispute filed against me.

Edit: Isn't there any online sulotions for me? This must have happened to 1000's of other people.

I'm sure it has, some of them with this same "seller". Some payment services, such as PayPal, offer a degree of protection by contract. That, no doubt, is why this seller steered you to Western Union, which offers no such protection.
