Default Child Support Interest From California, Enforced In Washington

Thanks for responding to my questions. I wonder what your opinions are regarding the other questions I had in the post. If there is anyone else with opinions on these issues, feel free to respond. They were:

“Also, not to mention that I was not given all the information 8 to 10 years ago to make a payment arrangement according to what I really owed or would owe with accrued interest over time, I was only told to pay (by California and Washington) on the arrearage.”

“the next topic is about any kinds of motions or court actions I can take to stop the interest from accruing anymore”

“involves the wording on the final divorce decree which states that the respondent (custodial parent)will pay the petitioner (me - non-custodial parent) child support every month in the amount of $x.”

If you don't make your monthly payment, you accrue an arrearage. Payment toward the arrearage is not part of your basic, monthly continuing child support obligation.

I'm not sure what additional information could have been given, or how it would be relevant to your situation. If you pay on the arrearange, it goes down and you accrue less interest. Or you pay it off and interest stops accruing.

You can't make interest go away simply by filing a motion. If you want to do that, you pay off the arrearage.

Thanks for the response, Mr. Knowitall, but I'm not sure you read all of what I wrote in my original post. I understand how child support works and I have paid ALL the support that was due, however there are some loose ends that I have come across for which I seek answers or opinions to. The issues in quotes are simply ambiguities that I am trying to reconcile and if there is some action to take, I will consider it, if not, then I will at least have a better understanding.

If you made all of your payments as scheduled, then you don't have an arrearage, never accrued interest on your arrearage, and none of this is a problem. So what part didn't I read?

lol.....Yes, there was an arrearage and yes there was interest on the arrearage, however the arrearage is paid in full and now there is interest to pay. You seem to be pointing out the obvious and not answering my questions from my original and secondary posts.

You got your answers. The only remaining problem is that they're not what you wanted to hear.

Wow....if you're a lawyer, I think you've been one way too long....if you're not a lawyer then you definitely shouldn't become one or give too much advice on this forum, because your interpersonal skills are pretty tactless and lacking....I asked specific questions about my situation and you provided some type of twisted way to make sure I am being taught a lesson and I find your judgments and attitude worthless....I mean really, I let several people read the entire exchange between us and they agree that you aren't addressing the questions or issues, you just seem to want to have an attitude and pick a fight or at the very least, dismiss other people's concerns. To tell me "If you made all of your payments as scheduled, then you don't have an arrearage, never accrued interest on your arrearage, and none of this is a problem. So what part didn't I read?" is ridiculous because things happen in life that can interfere with payments and non-custodial parents can get behind through circumstances out of their control, or are you too blind and tainted to see this? To say to me "You got your answers. The only remaining problem is that they're not what you wanted to hear" is childish and not true at all. I asked specific questions and you seem to want to punish me somehow with words to what end? Make me realize I should have done what, exactly? Been a better parent? Paid my child support on time? Like somehow I don’t know any of this and you, the “Savior of the World” is going to make sure I know? How easy is it for you to make judgments on other people by manipulating facts and belittling their problems? Or is it that you assume the worst in people right up front? I think you have been at this kind of stuff way too long....maybe a new career is in your best interest.
