Physical Placement vs. Primary Physical Placement

North Carolina:
what if you have joint legal custody for both mom and dad
and in the papers where it states who is with who at their times.
it says. father: primary physical placement
mother: physical placement

but everything else is right down the middle.
what does this mean legally??

one more question. if it states in the papers pertaining to child support the only thing is states.. in leiu of child support the mother will retain medical insurance on the child.
doesnt say anything about the father? can i have him pay child support?

It means that dad is the primary custodian, and mom is secondary.

If the child support guidelines for your state require you to pay child support, you can expect to pay child support. As you state, the current order allows you to pay for health insurance instead of paying child support.
