    Question Tenants in Common

    I own one third of a house and really want to sell but my other relatives are against it. 1 relative ownes one third and other relatives own a sixth each. They tell me i have no choice but to hold onto my share since they never plan on selling. This home is in Hawaii.

    You can sue for sale or partition, but expect to invest many thousands of dollars and perhaps a couple of years in the litigation.

    simple.....sue.

    unless you can convience all to sell you will need to go to court.

    Make an offer for them to buy out your portion.
