Assault By My Drunk Mother

My mother was drunk the other night and came after me, pulling my hair, throwing stuff at me, hitting me, threatening my brother and i, etc. The police took her over night, and took a statement from my brother and I. They said assault charges are possible, what are the chances if she was drunk? Anybody know? I recieved bruises and an extreemly sore head, and she also ended up with bruises because i had to hit and even bite her to get her off of me at one point. Advice or suggestions?
