Default Choosing a babys last name
Can I give my baby a different last name than mine or the babys father? I live in NewYork.

That shouldn't be a problem, as long as your purpose isn't fraudulent.

Well... any name change meant to advance a fraud. Like giving the child a name such that he appears to be the child of a famous person, then attempting to profit from the resulting confusion.
