Default Being sued for credit card debt
I have recently recieved a summons to appear in court for a city bank credit card debt of just under 10 thousand dollars. I have tried to resolve this in many ways (ie: payments to city bank/ payments to collection attorney) but I have not had a stable income in two years. This makes it difficult to make payments on a consistant basis. My wife and I have payed a few hundred here or a thousand there which has brought our ballance down to just under ten thousand but we are now truly completely broke and there just isn't any more.

What is a person to when they can't even afford a bankrupcy lawyer to help resolve this?

My finances just don't cover a morgage, car payment, taking care of three children, and everday expeses such as food.

Every month is a squeaker and it just keeps getting worse. Now I have this on my plate and I just can't do anything about it.

Should I let it go to court and risk having them sieze my vehicle that I have to transport my kids with; Or worse, have them put a lein on my house?

I just don't know where to go with this and I only have about 10 days before I have to submit my response to the summons (if I don't then I lose this case anyways).
Any help would be deeply appreciated.

Default Bankruptcy
You need to consult a bankruptcy lawyer, if possible on Monday.

Not ever doing this is it something that I should be asking for a free consult on? Frankly, I can't even afford a lawyer.
