Default Re: Sheriff Threw Belongings Into The Yard, Strangers Took It All

Although it is not apparently applicable in your state, Sam, the law you cited basically gives the landlord and only the landlord rights and responsibility for the abandoned property.

It would sem that the LL would have the right to give away the property but does not allow others to take the propperty without permission.

It is still tresspassing to enter anothers property without permission so yes, it would be tresspassing to enter (technically, reaching over the boundary line is still tresspassing) the property to take anything.

    LOL, Aaron. ;-)

The point is to avoid taking someone else's property -- so long as it belongs to someone else.

JK, I think you are absolutely right.

Thumbs down Re: Sheriff Threw Belongings Into The Yard, Strangers Took It All

sounds like a properly done eviction.

when it gets to that point it is the renters who have failed to get their butt in gear. i've seen it all to frequently in detroit....people are totally lacking in taking responsibility.
