Is a Sex Offender Doomed to Unemployment Forever

I have tried several times to help a girl who was convicted as a sex offender because of sex with a teenage boy. Yes it was a stupid thing she has done, but it was in 1995, time was served, people have moved on and a lot has changed since that time 12 years ago. I tried to tell her then that for years women have been having sex with young men but that does not make it right. I told her that all its going to take is for one of their mothers to get wind of what she was doing and prosecute to the fullest extent of the law. Guys when they are young think this is cute sleeping with older women, but mothers do not. I knew it would happen one day to somebody, only I had no idea it would be somebody I knew and believe it or not, I feel sorry for her now because she can not find employment even though the guy is an adult now and has a family of his own with a good job and everything. If this were a man, I guess to be honest I probably would not even be asking this, but since its not and I know the person to be remorseful, please tell me, what in the world do women who are convicted as sex offenders do to get a job in america.

This was bad, but will she be punished forever and never be able to re-enter society. Honest answers please. This is really a bad situation.

I would say while in the interview tell the person what happened in her life. Tell them the person is now a grown man and married. Be honest and share her feelings and say it was stupid on her part ..show remorse to the job. Tell her to apply at walmart - they have a lot of criminals working for them and state they do not discriminate, my friend had rape on him and got a job at walmart. Just be honest on the criminal part.

She does need to be truthful when filling out job applications. If she lies & the employer finds out, she definitely will not get the job or will be fired if she was already hired.

She just needs to keep trying - of course, places where she would work with/be around children she best eliminate applying at. Hopefully, eventually, someone will take a chance with her.

Honestly I will tell you her best bet is moving to Ohio and applying at the place where I worked. It was no secret that a female supervisor there was convicted of molesting a teenage boy and still managed to work there and the place is located directly across the street from the towns only high school. So basicly she has access to teenage boys and getting paid to scope out future victims.
