Rights to Sell a Jointly Owned House

I just recently purchased a home jointly with my girlfriend in Mass. However, now our relationship is in trouble. We were never married and have only been living together for two months. What are my/our options with the house. She has very limited income. She also has kids. None mine and I am not legaly responsible for the children.

Either of you can refinance the home in your own name. The other option, which is a partition lawsuit, is expensive, and will likely cost more than whatever amount of equity either of you have in the home. You can both decide to put it on the market.

In the meantime, if both of your names are on the house, then you are both responsible for making the payments or having your credit ruined by not making them.
